Description | Habitat: Calcareous soils (mainly); roadsides, disturbed areas, waste areas. Plant: Weak, open perennial bush 3 to 9 feet tall. Leaves: Narrowly elliptic to linear, sessile leaves 1 to 2-1/2 inches long. Inflorescence: Panicles of large numbers of white flowers; pistillate (female) flowers produce long, white pappus hairs.
