A mid November trip to Lake Somerville State Park, Nails Creek Unit, north of Giddings was rewarding in that even though late in the season there were a few fall bloomers on display, including three new species for the site. Not a very showy plant, Lindheimer’s Croton or Doveweed was blooming and it was found everywhere in massive displays. The weather was perfect, warm sunny days and cool nights.
