I had put off a visit to Brazos Bend State Park for a long time, and was able to get there the third week in October. The park is south/southwest of Sugar Land. It was a bit late in the season, but there were still quite a few plants blooming, and many that I had never shot. The park is beautiful and definitely warrants another visit, maybe in the spring. Afterward, I spent a couple days at Stephen F. Austin State Park (between Katy and Sealy). It had been to dry and there was nothing blooming, so I made a short trip into Katy to the George Bush Park on the west side of Houston and found a few plants blooming there.
