Description Habitat: Dry washes and rocky stream banks.
Plant: Spreading deciduous shrub 3 to 5 feet tall with exfoliating bark.
Leaves: Light-green lanceolate leaves up to 2-1/4 inches long and almost 1 inch wide; borne singly or in pairs.
Inflorescence: Red-orange, tubular flowers about 1-1/2 inches long.
Bloom Period: June to frost.
