Description | Habitat: Prairies, grasslands, open oak woodlands; sandy or loamy soils; somewhat hairy. Plant: Small annual, single or branched stems 2-1/2 to 6 inches tall. Leaves: Lower leaves opposite, oblanceolate becoming alternate and elliptic to linear upward; up to 1-3/8 long and 1/3-inch wide; margins entire. Inflorescence: Terminal clusters of a few flowers with 5 pointed petals, blue/purple to pink with faintly streaked pale eye; corolla tube somewhat hairy, some hairs glandular.
