Description Habitat: Open, loamy soils.
Plant: Erect short-lived perennial, somewhat hairy stems, 12 to 28 inches tall.
Leaves: Basal leaves spatulate to linear, 2 to 6 inches long and often slightly notched; stem leaves are petiolate, smaller, lanceolate to linear; surfaces may be smooth or slightly hairy; edges may have a few teeth.
Inflorescence: Several to many flowers in clusters, each head 1 inch across, 50-100 white ray petals (fewer than E. philadelphicus).
Bloom Period: April to June.
