Description | Habitat: Garden escapee found on roadsides, thickets and edges of woods near creeks. Plant: High climbing vine with stems 10 ft. long or more. Leaves: Compound leaves with 3 to 5 leaflets, each triangular-ovate or broadly ovate; bases are rounded to cordate; up to to 2.6 inches long and 1.4 inches wide; terminal leaflet on a long petiolule; margins are entire; upper surfaces are smooth. Inflorescence: Clusters (compound cymes or cyme-like panicles) of 3 to 12 white flowers along stems arising from leaf axils; flowers have wide-spreading white sepals 0.4 to 0.6 inches long (2 to 3 times width) with hairy edges; about 50 stamens, 5 to 10 long, feathery pistils and broad, flat seed pods (achenes) outlined with rims.
