Description Habitat: Most soil types and conditions; roadsides, gardens, fields, barren gravel, pastures, lawns, waste areas, etc.
Plant: Erect branching annual 4 to 24 inches tall.
Leaves: Basal leaves 2 to 4 inches long in a rosette, usually lyrate-pinnatifid with angular, forward-pointing lobes; stem leaves narrowly oblong, lanceolate, or linear 3/8 to 2-1/4 inches long and up to 5/8-inch wide, clasping or auriculate; hairy; sometimes dentate margins.
Inflorescence: Terminal clusters of small flowers, about 1/8-inch wide on pedicels 3/8 to 5/8-inch long; 4 green or reddish sepals; 4 white petals longer than sepals; 6 stamens.
Bloom Period: February to May.
Fruit: Flattened seed pods up to ~1/3-inch long and less than that wide shaped like an inverted triangle with the top side dented.
