Description Habitat: Rocky limestone canyons.
Plant: Single- or multi-trunked shrub or small tree 6 to 12 feet tall; deciduous.
Leaves: Small, alternate, petiolate light green, deeply cleft to the base into two leaflets 2/3 to 1-inch long.
Inflorescence: Umbel-like tight groups of white or light pink blossoms, each with 5 sepals and 5 petals; 9 or 10 stamens but only one is functional.
Fruit: Flattened pod several cm long with several seeds.
Bloom Period: March to May.
