Description Habitat: Dry, rocky, calcareous soils.
Plant: Short perennial 4 to 10 inches tall; woody branches from base; strong odor.
Leaves: Very narrow, pointed opposite, linear leaves 3/8 to 3/4 inches long.
Inflorescence: Composite flower heads sessile or on short peduncles less than 3/8-inch long; heads about 1 inch across, with 7 or 8 (or a few more) yellow rays and 18 to 25 yellow disk florets in the center; involucre with 8 to 14 the phyllaries fused together almost to the tips and gland-dotted; set of 5 smaller bractlets below the flower head.
Bloom Period: Throughout the year, mostly summer and fall.
