Description Habitat: Sandy or gravelly soils on desert hillsides and washes.
Plant: Dense, rounded or broad small shrub 8 inches tall or less; stems and leaves covered with stiff hairs.
Leaves: Many small, dark green, alternate leaves once or twice pinnately-dissected into 3 to 5 very thin segments with a spine at each tip; covered with hairs and somewhat glandular.
Inflorescence: Many small, terminal, irregular flowers with 5 pink/white mottled or streaked petals; protruding stamens and style.
Bloom Period: March to October.
