Description Habitat: Fields, disturbed and cleared areas, roadsides, waste areas.
Plant: Erect or ascending annual with branched, hairy stem up to 18 inches tall.
Leaves: Opposite, hairy, elliptic to narrowly oblong-ovate leaves with rounded tips; about an inch long.
Inflorescence: A few to many small flowers grouped together, each with 5 curved white, deeply notched petals, ten stamens and five hairy green sepals.
Bloom Period: February to May.
