Description Habitat: Dry, gravelly, calcareous soils.
Plant: Erect perennial 8 to 20 inches tall, one to several stems.
Leaves: Compound leaves with 3 to 9, silky-hairy leaflets, each about 5/8-inch long.
Inflorescence: Cone-shaped flower heads 3/8-inch long, surrounded by 5 yellow petals.
Bloom Period: April to September.
