Description Open areas, roadsides; upright slender or bushy annual plant 1 to 3 feet tall, much-branched; leaves trifoliate with oblanceolate leaflets; near the flower head leaves become bract-like; flowers have 4 white petals and pink to purple stamens much longer than the petals; erect fruit capsules 1 to 3 inches long.
