Description Habitat: Open areas, caliche ridges and woodlands; in well-drained soil. Endemic to far South Texas and northeast Mexico.
Plant: Densely-branched shrub with an irregular shape, 3 to 9 feet tall.
Leaves: Deciduous, opposite leaves, pinnately, compound with 5 to 10+ leaflets.
Inflorescence: Small white, yellow or pink pea-like flowers in cluster of 2 to 6 blossoms in leaf axils.
