Description Habitat: Open areas along roadsides, in pastures and disturbed sites.
Plant: Spreading perennial with several hairy, branched stems about 1 ft. long.
Leaves: Alternate, petiolate stem leaves, narrowly elliptic, 3/8 to 1-1/8 inches long; upper portion with toothed edges.
Inflorescence: Salmon-pink to red-orange flowers about 1-1/8 inches across, 5 petals; hairy, leaf-like bracts.
