Description Habitat: Shady, wooded areas, near streams.
Plant: Bushy, leafy perennial shrub 2 to 4 feet tall.
Leaves: Large heart-shaped leaves, 2 to 4 inches long with prominent veins; often with 3 to 5 lobes.
Inflorescence: Bright red blossom with tightly wrapped petals, about an inch tall with long, protruding stamen.
