Description Habitat: Various soils. Native in East Texas; often cultivated elsewhere.
Plant: Climbing, woody, evergreen vine up to 50 ft. long
Leaves: Shiney, opposite evergreen leaves 4 to 6 inches long.
Inflorescence: Large, trumpet-shaped blossoms 2 inches long in clusters of 4 to 6, deep red on the outside and red to yellowish inside.
