Description Erect annual, about 2 feet tall; lanceolate, stalkless basal leaves to 4 inches long, smaller and clasping along stem; single flowers to 1-1/2 inches across, with two large blue petals, and prominent, fuzzy stamens. Texas Status
Native

Found only in a few counties in Central and South Texas, and in one part of Mexico. These blue varieties were found March, 2015, at St. Edward’s Park in Austin. Rare white variety was found at Mayfield Park.
